it felt like a real weekend....

Addendum: It's also feeling like a weekend week. Complete with Monday night dollar movie and a picnic in sugarhouse park tonight. *sigh

Oft times in New York ...

(picture taken on our last night in the city - Madison Square Park)

it was hard to ever fully experience the weekend.
monday came before we had mentally prepared for its return.
a few of our friends seemed to master the 2-day haitus, packing it full of dinners here and shopping there, a museum on the way to ...
and so on and so forth.
somehow, those event-packed weekends evaded us.

we were burdened by the demands of life -
unattended laundry
an empty refrigerator
an assignment that had to be finished by sunday evening

and often, our weekend became an (singular) outing on saturday night.
sunday came and went before we realized it.
and on monday, we found ourselves
back on wall street.
back on 26th and 12th
perplexed how we got there so quickly -
counting down 5 days until we tried to catch up on chores and explore again.

in utah however, the sands of the hour glass seem to pass at a lesiurely pace.
this weekend felt like a "cation."
(and we didn't even have Friday off)

Still, in our 2 days we managed to:
  • see Harry Potter (AMAZING)
  • catch a baseball game and fireworks at the Bees Stadium, where we ran into this guy:
  • shop in Park City
  • walk around the farmers market at Pioneer Park
  • watch gossip girl
  • go out to dinner at our FAVORITE Thai place
  • visit with Aunt Ginger & Uncle Ross
  • have some of our favorites over for a bbq
  • go to a birthday party
on the field at Bees Stadium, front and center for the fireworks.
AND STILL be in bed by 10:30 on Sunday night.

rubi that is the worst news ever. (and not to bring the wrath of lightening strikes upon me) BUT it's not like sundays are even FREE days.
yuck.
