I live in London....

"I CAN'T BELIEVE I LIVE HERE."
(here as in London, not the gorgeous flat in a superb location with tons of natural light - I don't live there. But the owners Simon & Julie, were kind enough to sublet it to us while they were out of town until the Notting Hill place panned out ... which it did, on MONDAY!)

That's me, all dolled up and working from "home" last week. My employer is THE GREATEST. Now you might be asking yourself, why is she all dolled up to work from home? It's simple - I'm productive if I pretend I'm REALLY going to the office. That's not to say I haven't attended a video conference in my pajamies. But I did have the decency to throw on a scarf and some lipstick to look somewhat presentable!

I feel myself relaxing here. In our first few weeks there were quite a few instances where impatience led to boiling blood or that sweaty overheating feeling that rage stirs in you ... but I think I've calmed down. Adjusted a bit. I'm not the driver in this city - just a passenger - so I might as well enjoy the ride. And since I've managed to let go of my timetable a little bit (we're running behind schedule - the flat should be fully outfitted and decorated by now, internet should be installed etc) - I've been able to enjoy the city a little more.

I wish I had something clever to say, alas, the well of wit runs dry today. We moved into our Notting Hill flat and I could not love it more than I do. It's quiet, and spacious and perfectly located. This morning on our way to the subway, Matt and I took a stroll down Portobello Road and enjoyed the market. We browsed through vintage maps, feasted our eyes on a smathering of affordable fruits and veggies from local farms, dined on THE MOST DELICIOUS falafel pita wrap, and wished we had enough cash dollars to treat ourselves to the stunning antiques along the street.

We ordered our air mattress.
COME VISIT!

I would love to come visit you! Glad everything worked out. When we decide to make the transatlantic trek to London, we will definitely come visit you! You can show us all the places the tourists don't know about yet. :)

Next time you go to Portobello Road you have to get a cupcake from The hummingbird Bakery - they have the best cupcakes ever! Oh and try a hambuger and steak fries at Hamburger Union - totally worth the calories. =)
